Use the California starting point
Title 8 §1526 calls for one separate toilet facility for each 20 employees or fraction of each sex, subject to its exceptions. A site with 21 male employees and 3 female employees starts at three facilities under that baseline. The rule includes provisions for all-gender single-user facilities and for fewer than five employees. Have the site’s responsible safety professional review the final arrangement.
Do not stop at the minimum count
The largest simultaneous crew is a starting input. Multiple work areas, extra shifts and travel distance to facilities can affect a practical plan. Federal OSHA §1926.51 is a useful reference, but it should not replace California requirements for a California site.
Plan washing and consumables
California §1527 addresses washing facilities at construction jobsites. Toilets also need to remain clean, functional and supplied with paper. Discuss soap, water, towels and replenishment rather than treating the delivery of an empty wash station as the end of the job.
Protect the recurring service route
Mark the location on the site plan. When fencing, material stacks or a new work phase changes access, notify the rental team. For a Fallbrook hillside build, reassess unpaved access after rain and keep the service position clear of equipment.
Finish with a confirmed pickup
Ask how to end an open-ended rental and when billing stops. Request collection when the work is finished and keep access available until the unit is removed. Save the pickup confirmation with the final invoice.
